Very slow responsiveness in latest beta

Just generally seeing a lot of lag when moving between precomps; this is in a relatively complex, long project on a 4k monitor. Often when leaving a big comp, there's slowdown between clicking a menu item and feedback from the UI.

There is something going on we are trying to track down where having the Character panel open appears to be causing some delays in the menus. Unclear what it is yet, but if you have the Character panel open, try closing it and see if that helps.

I have closed as many panels as possible on this project - so the character panel is not open. I have found, however, that it's impossible to keep the properties panel closed - when I select a layer, it opens again.

In terms of specifics this comp is over 5 minutes long and about 7000 x 1080, containing hundreds of layers - is this likely to impact UI responsiveness?
