glb models in my composition view appears black/invisible

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Drag glb file from the file explorer into After Effects 'Project' window
  2.  Drag glb file from the Project tab to 'Create a new composition' button at the bottom of the 'Project' window
  3.  'Model Settings' window pops up: click 'OK'

Result: 3D model appears invisible in composition view
Expected: Visible 3D model in composition view

This happens with all glb files. They work fine in other programs.

Check your GPU compatibility with the Advanced 3D renderer, which is the engine that helps AE work with 3D models. I was having the same issue and then saw that my GPU is not compatible!

Thank you, this seemed to be my issue. The required VRAM for the new 3D engine is 4GB and i had just 2GB. I got a new computer with more VRAM and it works now.
