There some sort or memory leak or another issue with the RAM on latest versions of AE and AE Beta on Windows 10.
The issue is Rendering or Ram Previews that use a lot of memory eg, Full Res with loads of pre-comps hangs AE. You need to End Process.
Also its generally slow to render as well.
