Hi all,

Thanks Adobe for pushing ahead with updates on Air, some of us are die-hard fans still! As mentioned elsewhere, an updated roadmap for 2018 or at least some intel as to the internal strategy surrounding Air would be lovely.

Regarding the Flash Builder crashing, I've just downloaded the latest Air release as made available earlier today and I'm still experiencing the crashing.

Any others with the same experience? Is there something I need to do to prevent this crash?

To be honest, pleasantly surprised that the fix is with the Air SDK and not Flash Builder itself!

Thanks,

Dave.

Amazing! Thanks so much... @Adobe - that info needs to be made available more widely and at least in the Air release notes!

Also, why is Flash Builder so hidden now as download? Suggests Air and Flash Builder are on the way out? Shortly??

The crash is not in any way related to AIR, with high sierra Apple introduced a new file system APFS which is causing a lot of problems for a lot of apps, the only work around for all those apps is to push a new update to address those issues.

Concerning FB 4.7 the problem is that no update will be pushed by Adobe as they stopped supporting that app long ago. A java update or an eclipse update won't do. The sole solution is to avoid using all FB features that are causing crash including the publishing button. Publishing can be done on command line with adt.

ASWC, afraid you're wrong as per the previous reply to my original post by kawikahefteland my follow-up reply.

As per the Adobe post:

Flash Builder 4.7 crash on Mac OS 10.13 (High Sierra)

With the recent update of Mac OS 10.13 (High Sierra), “Flash Builder stopped working” error is encountered when you click Project-> “Export Release Build”.

If you are facing this issue follow the steps below:

  1. Download the attached zip (fb.zip) which contains 2 jar files.
  2. Copy the 2 jar files and paste them at the location: “/Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/eclipse/plugins/”.
  3. Restart Flash Builder.

So yes, a Java patch to Flash Builder has fixed the issue. I'm now using Flash Builder perfectly fine on High Sierra.

Thanks Adobe! Some wider publicity would be ace

Thank you for this post. Flash Pro CS6 is also crashing, and if Flash Builder can be fixed so easily, there may be hope for Flash Pro too.
