A question about the zoom function in older versions

Hey, so I'm a long time user of animate and love the drawing aspects of it. Over the past 5 years I've pretty much switched from paint tool sai to just using adobe animate for everything. HOWEVER, since i've upgraded laptops multiple times and still having lagging issues with animate, I've decided to try downgrading to the last version of the old flash cs6. It does indeed run MUCH faster and has all the tools I use, but am having trouble with some of the commands

Many of the "f" buttons used for adding frames and whatnot aren't accessable on my hp laptop (since they're used by the system) but I was able to bypas this by changing the command keys to ctrl+ different keys on my computer. There is ONE issue that I can't seem to get by though. The zoom tool on animate relies on the mouse wheel and I can't seem to get it to regester when I'm changing the keyboard shortcut.

Ive tried switching it to the ctrl+, and ctrl+. since the wheel seems to act as those buttons when scrolling through the timeline but it still won't let me use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out? Is there a way to link the mouse wheel to the zoom function or will I just have to get used to the old way?

also, is there any way to just switch all the keyboard commands from my animate setup to the old cs6 version? that would be sweet!

As always thank you to the moderators and other users of this forum who've helped me so much in the past, your efforts are much appreciated!

sorry, i thought you meant something else by middle scroll wheel.

anyway, if you can't use the shortcuts with it, you would need to use a jsfl file.

In Flash CS6 you had to hold Ctrl+ Shift to be able to use the Scroll Wheel for zooming. Some shortcuts can't be changed and this is one of them.

the only easy thing you can do is edit your keyboard shortcuts (edit>keyboard shortcuts).

Yes, I Have started to do this, but is there any way to get it to pick up on the middle scroll-wheel of my mouse?

I am talking about the scroll wheel on my computer mouse. The black wheel between the two buttons. I am trying to set my keyboard shortcut for zooming in and out to this scroll wheel so I can use it to zoom in and out like I do with adobe animate?
