Adding multiple platforms to flash game

This is my first time programming and using flash and god is it difficult! So far I have a player and he can stand on one platform. I am having trouble making more objects react with the player. Any help?

What does adding more platforms have to do with making objects react with a player?  What is involved with objects reacting with a player?

As in wall collisions, the player standing on a platform or getting walking into a object and colliding, not being able to move through...
