Adjusting Motion Tween Animation Curves in the Graph

Hello there,

I'm currently working on my first bigger project in animate and I wonder whether I am missing something regarding the editing of motion tweens because they are so hard to actually work with.

The thing which keeps bugging me is working with motion tweens. I would like to have an object bounce to the rhythm of a song and therefore adjust the keyframe tangents in the motion tween's graph (see attached image). This is such a struggle though! First thing is that by default all interpolation is linear and in order to get some easing i need to ALT+Click EVERY keyframe TWICE in order to pull the handles out which is super fiddly! There must be an easier way to do this, isn't there? Second problem is that once I try to change a keyframe's value by dragging it up or down in the graph the whole graph starts scaling so I very quickly end up with crazy high or low values.

I can't imagine that everybody else is working the way I just described as well so I hope somebody can tell me what would be the smarter, faster, and more intuitive solution. Classic Tweens don't give me enough options to adjust the animation curves, right? How do you guys do it?

Thanks a lot!

Motion Tweens are unusable and no one uses them. They should have been scrapped a long time ago.

Use Classic Tweens instead.

okay, thanks a lot for that information! I already had read something like this in some older threads but I would have expected Adobe to have fixed this by now, considering the price for Animate and the absolute mess those motion tweens indeed seem to be. Guess I will have to say goodbye to an editable motion graph then (or to Animate altogether)...

if you really want to enjoy tweening and you aren't code averse, check greensocks tween classes.  you can easily execute performant exotic tweens.

uh, i hadn't heard of that before at all - sounds interesting! probably a bit overkill for what I currently am working on but I will take a closer look for sure. Thanks!

if you only need something basic, stay with shape and classic tweening.  they work pretty well.
