Its happening more frequently now, Im working on an animate job.

As Im about to finish it, the file gives me an error, I cant save so I have to Quit without saving.

I look at the FLA and it says its 1kb.
CORRUPT!

So I have lost all of my work, this has happened 6 or 7 times now, no reason at all.

Recovery files do not help as there is no recovery because you have to Quit.

Has anybody else had this issue?

I'm Uninstalling and reinstalling now.

FRUSTRATED!

Hi Preran I actually found where the recovery file is kept on the MacOS in the Library.

It was a serious bit of internet searching, but I found the solution.
After updating to Animate CC 2019, it has been completely stable.

So, all good.

Thanks.

If the error message indicates that your file has gotten corrupted, I suggest getting in touch with our tech support team using this link Contact Customer Care They have been able to recover some corrupt files previously.

Thanks,

Preran

Animate CC 2020+ is causing the same issue. Why does this issue persist. It seem pervasive and there is no pattern.

is Adobe even looking into this?  There are dozens of not 100s of threads about this issue. It's a basic issue that should get resolved.

i've encountered the problem myself several times but it always (afaik) occurs when adobe hangs while doing something when the fla is open.

a solution is to save frequently with increasing version name so you never lose a significant amount of work.

another, less realistic solution, would be to hope adobe releases a version of animate that never hangs/crashes and use that version only.
