Animate CC - gradient fill and gradient transform tool

I have an issue where if I select a gradient fill and use the paint bucket to fill a shape, the gradient itself is not aligned to the size of the shape, but rather to the canvas itself, meaning I always have to select the Gradient Transform tool to adjust it back to the right size.

Same thing if I select the shape and then chose a gradient fill.

Is there way around this, ie to make the gradient just automatically fit the shape I'm colouring?

In previous versions of Flash you could use the paint bucket to sort of click-and-drag inside your shape to set the start and end of your gradient, but this is no longer a feature.

It's very frustrating - any help greatly appreciated!

Hi mate,

Try to switch on and off the little 'Lock fill' button at the bottom of your toolbar.

If should allow you to unlock dragging to fill with gradient and also the rest.

BTW, this is not new. It's always been like this.

Hope this helps!
