I noticed you are working with predominantly high resolution bitmap assets. Animate CC/Flash has never been very good with those, because it focuses more on vector-based animation.
An animation app that works well with bitmaps such as After Effects, CelAction, OpenToonz, or even any high-end 3D animation software (Max, Maya, Blender, C4d) may be a better choice next time. These all allow for warping bitmap assets as well and have a 'proper' 3d camera making it easier to control parallax scenes with depth.

we have installed v22 and 22.1 and the scene loads immediately but has half the animation missing - keys the but no library items ...

That is a sure sign as any that your file is corrupted.
Unless you saved incremental versions of your animation project from the very beginning that you started work on it, and you can open a version that worked before these issues popped up: you are in trouble.
Copy as much as you can in a new file. The rest is probably lost.
PS there might --just might-- be a way to salvage a corrupted file by renaming the FLA file extension to ZIP and use WinRar to repair the zip file, and then renaming the extension back to FLA. It is an old trick, and it more often than not fails to fix things, but it might be worth a try to see if it allows you to retrieve more of your lost work. It's saved my behind a few times when I was still working with Flash.
Don't forget to make a copy first, though 😉

Tried it. Never worked just taking an age to load like before...

No good with this unfortunately.
I have the animation open in v22.1 and it is working but missing library items on the stage and in library... but the keys are there. Any ideas on this and if it possible to fix?

I managed to get the file back working in AA v22.1. Managed to copy and paste keys over library items by re-importing. Been a long road today - file is all working but still quite slow in parts.
It lkoads in about 30 seconds but worried about the file size as its 4.5 GB! Other worry is that its taking 10 minuites to export the SWF to test even with only some layers visibnle on stage and in publish settings - scary stuff!

Another corrupted file? It seems Animate CC is having issues saving those rather huge project files.
Grasping straws here, but is there any anti-virus software or other background software running that may interfere with the saving of your files? Might want to deactivate those before saving to see if it helps maintaining valid files.
You could try bringing it into After Effects (part by part) (see other post in your other thread). Not sure if that will work, but worth a try.
In the end I fear AA isn't the right tool for this job. Or you may have to split up the animation in separate layered parts, render each separately, and comp it all together in After Effects or a video editor like Premiere/Davinci Resolve.

I have excluded AA from the virus/defender... whether that helps no idea.
I have tried importing to after effects - all there but animation not but I'll try again..
yeah I have split into parts but still taking forever to test scene swf on export....
someone mentioned it could be cos I never converted all bitmaps to symbols. Maybe that may help file size...

Everything that you animate in Animate must be converted to a symbol (preferably a graphic symbol in your case, because those play when scrubbing the timeline).
This step is essential, otherwise you may end up with many duplicates in your library.
It would explain the ridiculous file size of your project file.

I'll try this tomorrow. If this step needed doing before anim I'm Hoping I can copy and paste keys

The problem is that if you are animating objects without first turning those objects into symbols, you wind up with a mess in the library. You will have to clean out duplicates at that point.
Good luck!

Fair enough. Like I say I'm no expert at AA unfortunately...
yes surely you can just remove unused items from library...
But can I simply convert the animated png to a symbol or does this need to be done before keying? Will this lower the file size a lot or slightly? thanks

Unfortunately symbols must be created before they are animated with. There is no sense in converting already animated non-symbols to a symbol, because the original issue is not resolved then.
Check your library: if you have a lot of generic "Tween X" symbols you know that you've been animating without symbols.
Not too sure if the animations can be easily converted somehow to clean out your animation and symbols. It's become second nature to create symbols first before animating them whenever I worked in Flash/Animate in the past.
Perhaps someone else can chime in here.

Yes this is like a said in previous post...
So I'm hoping I can reimport library item and convert to symbol then paste keys.... even if it works for some lower size..
so you are saying if you have tween1,2 etc in library that is a sign they are not Symbols... sure I seen some of these.ok I know for next time then cheers
