AS3 tutorials for students - App with basic navigation, buttons and animated content

Hi,

I'm looking to source both beginners tutorials for AS3 for my HND Interactive Media students.  They are required to create an App with basic navigation, buttons and animated content, possibly a photo gallery too.  Some students are having difficulty in understanding the basics, e.g. functions etc.  I'm also looking for extension exercises for the students that have grasped that.

Any help would be much appreciated.  I am familiar with Doug Winnie, but found his tutorials too advanced.  I also know about the Missing Flash Manual.

There are many others available. Search Amazon for "Flash software textbook" and you'll find a bunch that are still in print.

Lynda.com has web based tutorials.
