Can I go back and forth between Animate CC and Flash Pro

My son uses Adobe Flash Pro CS6 in his high school 3D Animation class. If he brings home saved projects to work on using Adobe Animate CC will Flash Pro at school be able to handle/recognize changes made using Animate CC?

So long as you don't use features that only exist in one or the other you should be ok. For example, TLF text fields don't exist in Animate, and bones animations are done differently now, so opening a file with those features in Animate would cause the file to be changed.

But an Animate file itself should open in Flash Pro CS 5.5 or later, and you will see a dialog suggesting that you do a Save As of the file to make sure that it's really in the older file format.

It used to be the case that you could use Flash to edit Animate files early on, but I don't know if that still applies.  I also don't know if you can save files as Flash Pro files in Animate, which would be the safer way to play it.  I used to use Flash all the time, but between Animate and other factors I had to drop it all so I have not kept up with Animate as a result.

I am going to move this question to the Animate forum where folks who use it can chime in.

If you have a Creative Cloud subscription, you should be able to just install Flash CS6 alongside Animate.

That was a good suggestion.
