CC Animate Edit multiple frames performance issue

New Here ,
Apr 01, 2018 Apr 01, 2018

I recently upgraded my pc to a much better machine. 16gb Ram, i7- 8700k..

On my older system I used Flash cc 5.5 version and worked with very large files. Whenever I used edit multiple frames to resize all the frames it would be very sluggish but it was acceptable considering.

Anyways now that I have my killer pc and I'm currently working with a 9mb file. Theres 30 drawings overall and no tweens, bone tool or any other that could impact heavily on performance. Now, when I try to use the edit multiple frames function to edit them all, it takes foreeever to make any edits. The first time I thought the software crashed because nothing happened for 30 seconds.

My ram works fine and the ram usage is only 30% when I have the file open + chrome.

I can duplicate all the frames and copy them to another file easy but the edit multiple frames function is just too heavy to use at the moment.

Like I said I've worked with much larger files on a much crappier pc in the past without major issues.

-latest version

-windows 10

-i7- 8700k

- 16 gb ram

you could try resetting your cc preferences -

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/kb/re-create-preferences-flash-professional.html

(or remove Win:  C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Animate CC <version>\ and

                                  C\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Animate\<version>\

                        Mac:   /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/<Animate CC version>/ and

                                    /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Animate

No. The latest version cc animate. After I posted this I downloaded flash cc 6 to try it out. And in there I have no issues using the edit multiple frames function! So I guess I found a workaround for fixing this, even though switching between the two versions isnt ideal...
