Exporting with video that shows

New Here ,
Nov 13, 2022 Nov 13, 2022

I'm trying to export a animation with a video in the background but every time I do the background doesn't show. Apparently it's because the video's format H.642 wont work because of something with flash, and every time I try using a different format it either tells me it won't work unless it's the format that won't show after exporting or just export a single frame of the video like it's a picture. How do I import and export the background video!!!

ok.

so, you have a timeline animation that also has an h.264 video that's "embedded" in the timeline (and not played in a component), and you're trying to export that for video, correct?

Yeah I'm trying to export the whole animation including the timeline with the video, but every time I export it it's just the animation with a white background.

did you use the import video > import to timeline option?

if so, did you read the warning about h.264 videos not being exportable?

ie, use an flv if you want to import a video that's exportable by animate.

or use another app like after effects to composite your animation and video.

As kglad and the Animate warning says, embedded videos will not be included with export. Use a video editor like Premiere Pro to combine both the original imported video with the exported video from Animate. keep in mind you willl want to check the box in your Animate export settings to ignore stage color and export with a transparent background and use an export format that supports an alpha channel. I typically use Quicktime + Apple ProRes 4444 with Alpha for this.

Treat imported video as purely a reference track and combine later in a video editor.
