Hello, I'm a bit of a noob at Animate and I've made 30 or so little dots that I've made fade in using the alpha color effect plus classic tweens. Looks fine in the playback but as soon as I export it the fade in effect is lost. I get a list of compiling errors that might point to the problem but I can't really decipher it. Seems to have something to do with how I've named my symbols. Looks like this:
Scene 1, Layer '___layerObjectsOrdering___', Frame 1, Line 1, Column 11 1086: Syntax error: expecting semicolon before 1.
Scene 1, Layer '___layerObjectsOrdering___', Frame 1, Line 2, Column 11 1086: Syntax error: expecting semicolon before 4.
Scene 1, Layer '___layerObjectsOrdering___', Frame 1, Line 3, Column 11 1086: Syntax error: expecting semicolon before 9.

Scene 1, Layer '___layerObjectsOrdering___', Frame 1, Line 29, Column 11 1086: Syntax error: expecting semicolon before Våg.
I need to have this exported by tonight so I would be very grateful for some help!

you have extraneous code (or maybe just an extraneous dot) in that layer/frame.

Thank you for replying. Would you mind explaining what that means and what I can do to resolve it? 🙏

What's weird to me is that I went through ALL the symbol names in both the timeline and the library and changed all of them because I thought it might be a naming issue (I used some Swedish characters and white spaces).
In the last lines of the compiler error lists however, it still says "Våg" even though I've changed that name. I don't understand why. But maybe the name isn't the problem anyway...?

that character could be the problem.

copy and paste here a screenshot of your timeline's intial frames.

What happens is that it still give me error messages for those old names that I've already changed. Don't know where they are still hiding...

Hi.
It seems you either have some lost characters in a frame script (which you can check by calling the Actions panel) or you have a layer with a problematic name.

I've checked the Action Panel, it just looks completely empty

Thanks.
Are you using features that need advanced layers, like the Camera tool or parenting?
If not, what do you get if you turn advanced layers in the document properties off?

I'm not using those features to my knowledge, but when I turn off advanced layers my fade ins disappear even from the preview...

You may be applying some color effect to a layer itself, which requires advanced layers.

Yeah, according to this picture that you shared, you are using advanced layers features, which you can verify by checking the white keyframes.

Might be the alpha transitions (the fade ins) then? And those are what I want to retain but what doesn't appear in the exported film... Any suggestions what I can do?
What I find weird is that I keep getting these error messages about names that I've already changed. In the timeline output it looks like this:
'Skräp 3' is not a valid instance name. Please enter an identifier that contains alphanumeric characters, supported symbols, and no whitespace.
'Skräp 3' is not a valid instance name. Please enter an identifier that contains alphanumeric characters, supported symbols, and no whitespace.
'Skräp 2' is not a valid instance name...
Etc..

Do you mind showing your Library?

Not at all but I don't know how to do that

'Skräp 3' is not a valid instance name.
indicates you have something onstage with that name (in the properties panel).

I understand that, it's just that I don't know where I still have something with this name since I've changed all names in both timeline and library. Currently the compiling error list is shorter than before, it gives me this:
Scene 1, Layer '___layerObjectsOrdering___', Frame 1, Line 1, Column 11 1086: Syntax error: expecting semicolon before 33.
Scene 1, Layer '___layerObjectsOrdering___', Frame 1, Line 3, Column 10 1086: Syntax error: expecting semicolon before Våg.
Scene 1, Layer '___layerObjectsOrdering___', Frame 1, Line 4, Column 11 1086: Syntax error: expecting semicolon before Våg.
The timeline Output gives me a long list of bad names but like I said I changed all of the names so I don't know why this comes up.

you have to check all onstage objects in each keyframe.
you could pinpoint the issue by creating a new fla and selectively copy/paste layers until you find the problematic layer.

I mean, take a screenshot of your Library panel.

Here it is if this is what you mean. I'm in Sweden and have to sleep now but if you can figure this out so I can get a working export in the morning you'll be my hero 🙏
