Hi.
It seems the main timeline structure and the Library structure are lost, unfortunately.
Does your friend have a working SWF? If she does, maybe it's still possible to decompile it to a FLA using a software like Sothink SWF Decompiler.
Please let us know.
Regards,
JC

On Windows, the auto-recovery files should be located at:
<INSTALLATION_DRIVER>:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Animate CC <VERSION>\<LANGUAGE>\Configuration
Example:
C:\Users\joaoc\AppData\Local\Adobe\Animate 2020\en_US\Configuration
On Mac, it seems the files are located at (I'm not a Mac user):
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CC 2015/en_US/Configuration/
Please keep in mind that when you exit Animate normally, the auto-recover files are deleted.

If she doesn't find the file, then the only way I can think of recovering her file is through the SWF.
Hasn't she tested her movie using Control > Test (Ctrl/Cmd + Enter) at any time?

Actually there's a third option if she can't find the auto-recovery file and the SWF.
She can install a file recovery software like Recuva and search for all FLAs that have been deleted in her storage device.
Please let us know.

Thank you for the reply.
She has only recover part of the progress with swf and the recover file can't be found anywhere, even in the configuration folder. Maybe it was deleted when animate close. She already spent the whole day redoing all the work.
