flash preloader problem

Hello,

i have some problem with flash preloader, i am not sure if this has to do something with AS3, so i am sorry for posting in wrong forum.. i mostly use flash for drawing, but recently i wanted to try something..

i needed a preloader for it, i used some guide on youtube and it worked like a charm, simple.. today i wanted to do the same thing on something else, i made the preloader on my own but it didnt worked, it acted strangely, so i looked again to that guide if i made a mistake somewhere, but i did not, i completely rewrited the code exactly from the guide and it doesnt work..

and how it acts strangely? it does the following: when i run the swf file for testing and i wanted  to simulate download, the screen is black and there are five white dots counting from 1 to 5 again and again untill its loaded, then it "blinks" the preloader of mine with 100% and then it continues to my little creation.. my preloader is a simple yellow box, which should fill itself from left to right according to percent downloaded, even with dynamic text field under it, but none of this shows up.. just the black screen, five white dots, then it "flashes" or "blinks" to one frame of fully loaded bar with no text (there should be at least my dynamic text saying 100% done) and then it continues where it should.. i even tried my old creation where it worked like a charm and which i did not touched since then and it has the same problem..

i am praying to myself that i did not oversee some stupid little detail, but i am desperate after 2 hours playing with it.. if it is needed i will post a screen or anything, but i guess you would just know where is the bug, or i am the only one who has it

you're probably using a tlftextfield. 

if it's really needed click file>publish settings>advanced actionscript settings (wrench icon)>library path>default linkage>merged into code).  but it's almost certainly not needed.

change your tlftextfields to classic textfields and retest.

i deleted the text field and created a new one, making sure it is just dynamic text file and it worked like intended!

i had to missclicked when i created it for the first time, but i am not aware of it... i wouldnt fixed it without your advice i believe, thank you very much, kglad!
