This is my first time in a long while using Animate. I have about 30 seconds of audio that I'm animating, and a couple of layers with just drafts on them besides the audio layer. I've done just a few keyframes using the paint brush tool at stroke size 10. When it reaches any frames that have more than a few lines, the preview stops and freezes on that frame, the audio keeps playing but several seconds of animation get skipped, like Animate needs to "load" the more complicated frames. This even happens when I scrub through the timeline and pass those frames-- the application freezes and sometimes even refuses to let me land on those frames.
I feel like this would be normal if it were EXTREMELY complicated frames, but it happens to nearly all my draft keyframes that are more than 10 brushstrokes or so.
I've switched computers several times, from Macs to Windows, and ran it off and on drives. The problem is exactly the same and doesn't seem to have anything to do with the equipment. If I try to make a brushstroke on the more "complicated" frames, the whole application freezes for a few seconds before slowly loading the line in.
Please help! This is for a college assignment due in a few days. Examples of my frames below.
This frame in particular continues to play the audio as normal, but the animation stops at the frame before it and "catches up" about 50 frames after it, skipping everything in between.
This frame is incredibly simple but has a similar, less extreme problem.

how's playback if you publish?
if that's smooth, reset your preferences -
flash: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/kb/re-create-preferences-flash-professional.html
(or remove Win: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Animate CC <version>\ and
C\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Animate\<version>\
Mac: /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/<Animate CC version>/ and
/Users/<username

if playback is not smooth, are you using weak/old computers? if not, open your task manager (win) or activity monitor (mac) and see if there's something (eg, av, browser) other than animate using a of cpu cycles.
