How can I import animated effects and add them as layers in my frames?

Hi, I have built a project in animate consisting of hundred of frames, each with layered images,. I want to layer in animated effects. What types of files can i import into Animate for this purpose? I have read that files from after effects can be imported, is it only limited to After Effects?

You can import PSD, XFL, and Ai files.

  1. In another AdobeĀ® application, such as InDesign or After Effects, export your work as an XFL file. ...
  2. In Animate, choose File > Open and navigate to the XFL file. ...
  3. To save the file, choose File > Save. ...
  4. Type a name and save the FLA file.
