AME is an acronym for Adobe Media Encoder.
No need to play 'The Hatchling' here.

If you're just drag and droping the FLA file into Media Encoder it won't work. You have to open the file in Animate, go to File > Export > Export Video / Media and export your animation there.

Alright, here's a few things you can try:
- Double check that you have the latest versions of both Animate and Media Encoder.
- For MP4 exports, make sure to have this preset selected in Animate: Format: H.264 / Preset: Default (AME)
- Open Media Encoder as administrator before rendering in case the program doesn't have the necessary permissions.
- Make sure the folder you're trying to export to doesn't have read & write restrictions.
- If it doesn't work, export to a different location, preferably a local folder, networks and external drives can give problems sometimes.
- If it still doesn't work, change the renderer in Media Encoder to software only:
If after all that Media Encoder still doesn't respond you can export an MOV video directly from Animate with the preset Quicktime / Default (Animate); once done, you can drag that MOV file and drop it into Media Encoder to convert it to MP4 manually.
