Missing Tools in Animate

My tools bar is missing several items like pencil and oval. The drop and drag shows is greyed out or missing altogether.  I tried preferences. doesnt work.  Help, thanks!

Sorry, I see the pencil but not the oval.

Press and hold on the Rectangle icon. This will open a drop-down with more tools.

and that applies to all the tools with a triangle in the icons lower right corner.
