I don't understand why Adobe and Facebook have partnered up to produce this fantastic API only to let it waste away with ZERO support..... I spent a few hours today trying to determine how to do a simple story post to Facebook from within Flash only to run into wall after wall of bad code, outdated code, completely missing documentation, zero support, etc etc etc....
Why are there ZERO resources for explaining some of the more routine items a Flash developer would want to accomplish with Facebook? The only resource I've found that's been worth anything was Daniel Dura's example of "Hello World" in Flex which could be translated to work with the Flash IDE.
Where is the documentation???? Where are the people who built this API to offer some indication as to how it's used???

Apparently any support or knowledge for the AS3 API to Facebook has just been abandoned. No one has any idea or can point me to a book or blog anywhere?
Amazing that such a popular site and such a great technology to develop with has no support or documentation whatsoever.... pathetic.

No unfortunately those examples aren't good enough. They are a start however, how do I add a short story to the Facebook feed from Flash? Undocumented. Do you need to login from Flash or should you let the frontend code handle that? Undocumented. 1000's of other questions across the Facebook Forums.... all unanswered.
It's unacceptable that nothing is clearly laid out with solid examples. The best API is only as good as the documentation supporting it. In this case the documentation simply doesn't exist.

Flash wasn't created to support Facebook, so it's understandable that there isn't much of anything to be said about it in Flash forums or in the Flash documentation. Venting your frustration here probably isn't going to do much to get anything done except for someone like Muzak being nice enough to take the time to offer some information that may be useful. You can offer some suggestions to Adobe to create a support channel that addresses your needs. Use the following link: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

But Adobe has an API that both Adobe and Facebook have touted as being an official API to Facebook. There IS support for it. There just isn't any documentation. I appreciate any help and I don't mean to come off as an ungrateful jerk. I'm just extremely frustrated that neither entity took the time to put any thought into documentation for the AS3 side of things and that their community support is lackluster at very best.

I was thinking "no documentation??" so I had a quick look around.. Couldn't find any Facebook-ActionScript API docs ![]()
I did find this however:
http://code.google.com/p/facebook-actionscript-api/source/browse/#svn/trunk
As you can see, the first folder in the "trunk" is the docs. Why they're not available for download is beyond me.
So to grab those docs, you'll need an svn client like TortoiseSVN (windows):
