Yeah, if this is HTML5 Canvas document - you can only use video as a reference - unless using a Video UI component.

why would anyone use canvas when their aim is to export a video?  ie, using the wrong tool is a mistake,

LATEST

Video can only be used as a reference in AS3 FLAs as well, unless the imported video was FLV. The importer tells you that the video can't be exported.
