Trouble dragging my mouse across multiple keframes

Hey, I've noticed ive recently had trouble using my mouse to select multiple frames. Usually if i want to transfer many frames at once i click and drag to select multiple frame and it works great. But over the last two days this aspect seems to be bugging out. LIke if i drag vertically to select frames it'll end up selecting and dragging the first few frames i scroll over before i let go. Anyone else notice any issues with this aspect lately?

Is your mouse registering single clicks as double clicks? That could be a sign of a faulty mouse, make some tests first and let us know.

Ok, maybe I was just defensive, Here is a clearer explanation. (I attempted to catch this error using screen-recorder for a visual aid, but as soon as I started recording I could not get the error to occur......like some sort of frustraiting gremlin hiding in my machine who only toys with me when i'm not recording. )

*using my pointer I hold the left mouse button down over a certain frame in the timeline to select (highlight) this frame

*without letting go of the left mouse button I drag the pointer down, or up to select (highlight) multiple frames from the different layers in tht timeline

*I intend to let go of the mouse button once I have selected all the frames I intend to highlight at one time, However, after one or two frames have been highlighted using this process the frames begin to move as if I had let go of the mouse button which would selected them. They then move in the same way they would if i had only intended to highlight and drag them.

*this is frustraiting because I intend to select more frames before using the pointer to move them into place on the timeline.

thank you (and i know it's a hassle doing that, but when reporting bugs to adobe, precise step-by-step instructions are needed).

and those are exactly the steps i use to accomplish the same task.  however, i don't see that problem.

here are my specs:

ok, sorry for accusing you of semantics.

I have the same version of windows but I had stopped updating Animate at 23.0.1 since the updates seemed to be making my machine slower every time and only added more and more features  that I never use (i do simple 2d animation and would actually be satisfied with the last version of flash If I could go back to that but since flash is no longer supported i moved to animate)

This does seem to be a recent issue though, maybe a windows update doesn't work as well with 23.0.1?

if you restart your computer and start a new document, do you see the problem?  if so, update your mouse drivers.

Ok, So i uninstalled the official Logitech software that comes with my mouse ( it still works just fine) and after a week have not noticed the issue again. This has turned out to be a driver-issue with my mouse and not with Adobe software.

I begin by draging my mouse over the timeline and clicking onto a certain frame, blank or full. Using a left click I hold down the clicker and drag down or up to select multiple frames. If i'm not quick it usually drags that one frame I first clicked and held onto, or sometimes it grabs 2 or three frames and drags them along with my pointer before I let go of the click, instead of moving down and selecting all that I wanted to select

Ok, what is the proper terminology for holding the right mouse button down, then dragging over multiple frames before releasing?
