Unite objects to create a complex shape

How to unite two objects in animate cc...in illustrator we have pathfinder tool to unite objects how to do it in Adobe animate?

you can 

1. select both objects > click modify > group

or 

2. select both objects > right click > click create symbol if you want a new object with a new timeline for animating the group or you wanted to assign an instance name to the group to use with code.  this obviously has more overhead so you would only use this option if you we're going to use some feature(s) of symbols.
