Why can't I post a support question / start a new thread. I can only reply to something already posted!??

Hi Sujatha,
Thank you for your welcome message. I'm happy to be connected here. I have found many of the things in Animate CC familiar as I used Flash for several years. I'm challenged by the Javascript conversion in HTML 5 canvas and wonder why Animate CC dosen't just start on 0.
All the best,
Katherine

I want to clarify that I meant I would like the option to start the animation on frame 0.

It seems that replying to a post no longer bumps the thread to the top of the thread list. Is this intentional?

Can you try using the filter Sort by Replies? Does that help?

I see, yes, that does make things better. Shouldn't that be the default? The sort by relevance option doesn't even make sense. This is the Adobe Animate forum. Every single thread here should be relevant to Animate.

Hi S
It would be great to have a view with my own posted questions: no replies to own or other peoples questions, but just my questions with the marker on solved questions (marked as solved by me)

Hi, I have a animated drawing and I'd like to make some of the lines, which were drawn with the brush tool, thicker (once they were already drawn). How can I do that? Thank you.

Use the Ink Bottle Tool (S) and an outline stroke that's the same color as your brush lines, click inside the brush marks to add a stroke to the outside of the brush marks. If you need the strokes to be thicker select them by double- clicking the strike and use the slider in the Properties Panel.
Once you are finished and happy with the thickness, you can select all and go to Modify > Shape > Convert Strokes to Shapes.

I notice none of the forums have unique banner graphics anymore. Are they ever coming back?

Hello All. Im a graphic designer at a small agency & just starting out in Animate, and am looking for resources or any helpful info. As good and in depth as Ive made them, passing my GIFs out of Photoshop to a programmer isn't cutting it for my boss anymore, so its time for me to sink or swim. Pretty apprehensive with the backend things, click tags etc but believe my teams web dev & media dept can assist. Gonna run thru a bunch of tutorials today. Simple things like understanding the timeline and where things are located are still forgein to me. Any guiding info is appreaciated! Thanks and stay safe!

Hi.
Here are some content that I think will help you to get started.
The official help has lot of articles, tutorials, and examples:
https://helpx.adobe.com/support/animate.html
Animate CC also ships with great learning content. Just go to the start screen and select the LEARN option in the top-left corner of the screen.
LinkedIn Learning has some great video courses (mainly the ones from Dermot O' Connor and Joseph Labrecque):
https://www.linkedin.com/learning/
Pluralsight also have some great video courses:
Carl Schoof, from Snorkl.tv, has some great video courses as well for beginners:
Nick Tilcheff, from EDAP Tools, has some really interesting materials for animators:
http://flash-powertools.com/tag/edap-tools/
You can also search on YouTube. Besides the official channel, there are authors like Chris Georgenes, Alan Becker, Andrea Gerstmann, and BaM Animation that have really great stuff.
I wish you a great learning adventure!
Regards,
JC

Hello, thank you for suggesting such a broad range of resources! Which do you think are the most beginner-friendly? I'm finding that the in-app tutorials need to be more specific as to which frame to use in each step, as well as which panel is required to do certain actions, etc. I also tried watching a beginner's video from the Adobe site but it went too quickly to read what the different tools were. At this point I've spent several hours trying to learn with few results, so I'm going to need resources that explain things more effectively if I'm going to stick with Adobe products for animation moving forward. Your top picks for free, clearly explained resources for beginners would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, and thank you for taking my question: Has the 3D Rotation tool been removed from Adobe Animate?

The 3D Rotation tool and 3D Translation tool are still there, but can only be used in ActionScript 3.0 FLAs. They won't work in HTML5 Canvas.
For tools that seem like they are missing, click on the three dots in order to edit the tools. Drag any that you want to add from the full set, into the tools palette area.

I seem to have stopped getting email notifications a couple of days ago.
Is that so for everyone or only a problem on my end?

I'm still getting mine, Nick! You must have gremlins! 😄
Hope you get (or you have already got) it sorted!

Thank you for responding, Greg!
I have no idea what the reason could be. I stopped getting any on 5th May and only received a random one yesterday.
It could be due to some filtering then, but it's a company email address that I have no control of.
For now I'll have to get into the habit of checking the bell.
Hope you're well!
Take care!

Hi, Nick!
It also happens to me from time to time.
For some unknown reason, the status of my account is set to not be following the Animate forums. Then I have to go the home and click that follow button again. And sometimes I have to go to my account and just save/see the notification settings in there without actually changing anything at all! Haha
