Where did my Flash Player go?

Explorer ,
Oct 13, 2023 Oct 13, 2023

Recently, Animate was automatically updated. As a result I've lost my Flash player. With earlier versions you automatically got the player when you installed Animate. I'm not sure if that's still the case with this most recent version of Animate, but if it is I don't know where I can find it. If it isn't the case how can I download the player?  My efforts to do so have not been successful. If anyone can point me in the correct direction I would really appreciate it.

Hi.

The Flash Player comes installed with Animate. You need to look for it in a folder called players in the root installation folder of Animate. For example, on macOS, the path is like this:
/Applications/Adobe Animate 2024/Players/

Regards,

JC

No, that's the problem. Before I would have to click Open With, and select the player. However, the player is no longer an option on the list.

And secondly, why is the Flash Player only available for Adobe Animate subscribers? If SWF remains the native format for Adobe Animate, and you (Adobe) continue to support Adobe Animate, it seems contradictory and undermining of your own software, to not support a public-access Flash Player. The age of Adobe--Flash-will-take-over-the-Internet is now over. The software has returned to its roots as a vector 2D animation software. Bring back the public Flash Player.
