Adding tracks = glitching audio, out of sync tracks (iMac & zoom r16)
Howdy. I'm using Audition to record some basic demos and am running into trouble.
The set up:
2015 iMac 27"
Zoom R16 interface (w/ most recent updated drivers)
Various cardiod and dynamic mics
Recording settings:
44k
32 bit float
1024 khz buffer
16 gig memory dedicated to AA
As soon as I start adding more than 4-5 tracks, things start going off the rails. Audible clicks and pops (sorry, not sure how best to describe this ... digital artifacts maybe?) are present, both while recording and during playback (when I listen to and examine the waveform, the artifacts are part of the recording. Ugh).
I have a few buses set up and am running a modest amount of effects on each bus (AA's stock tube compression, studio reverb and built-in channel eq). I've toggled the effects on and off, but that seems to have little bearing on the outcome. Ending up with some useless, noise-ridden recordings. Crazy making. Help?
