adobe audition asio drivers yamaha - broken up recording

I have the version 14.2.0.34 and I am trying to record vocals using my MG10XU connected to my computer using the USB 2.0 connection. I downloaded the yamaha steinberg ASIO driver and chose it when setting up the audio hardware.

When start recording, it records the voice however there is latency or jumps in the recording when I playback the record. I am only recording one channel. I have reduced the buffer but it is still the same. When I record using MME it's the same.

On the hardware side, I have tried different connections, using different channels and mics but the problem persists.My computer is running on windows 10 and I didn't have these issues before.

Have you experienced something similar? Any idea how to solve it? Please let me know if you need more details.
