I'm just starting out as a voice over artist and use a USB Mic & Laptop to record into Audtion CC....Occasionally the quality is a little wispy / distorted. Can anyone advise on a solution for this please? I have a home based studio.

Thanks

Tony

What sort of meter levels are you seeing on your audio recorded in Audition? Are you working on a PC or a Mac? The way USB mics are treated by the two different OS's may make a difference to how the audio from the mic gets routed via the audio drivers into Audition. Can you post a screen grab of Audition's Audio Hardware set up page so we can see how it is set up?

    Hi Ry

    Thanks for the reply

I'm working on a HP Netbook Laptop.

Levels are around 18 which as you can see from what I've just recorded  are ok

In that case if the mic will do 48kHz sample rate set everything to that. However there is no guarantee that this will cure your original problem but getting it correct will rule out that as a cause.

Thanks RyYes I guess so....So annoying when you have to record several pieces because of problems like the attached audio
