adobe audition - connected xlr to phantom power and power to USB input on windows surface - get high pitched feedback
hello - i have a microphone that is connected to a phantom power supply via traditional xlr and then an xlr to usb cord going into my windows surface/adobe audition ( also tried a regular voice recording software to ensure it wasn't an audition issue) although i get the input loud and cleaer there is a high pitched "squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" in the background and it's highly audible. i changed out the cords and power supply and it didn't work. i also tried adjusting the input on my PC recording device settings but it just adjusts the input overall not and doesn't remove the tinny sound.
any other ideas as to what could be causing this?
