Okay so I've been using Audition for a few years and got a Pyle 4 track mixer a while back.  Every once in a while when I go to record even though the record button is lit up and I can select it and then select the monitor button but there is no audio to record. The levels will jump around a little but it's obviously not the input from the microphone. I have the audio hardware set to the correct microphone, the system says that it's working and it's obviously recognized by the program and my OS. Can anyone help? I feel like I have to be doing something really dumb but even when I open old files that I recorded and use those settings I am getting the same result!

Using a Pyle PMXU43BT 4 channel studio mixer btw.

I got chat help from Pyle. The power system for the mixer is finicky as heck. I had to shut it off, unplug it, disconnect all of ny USB cables, restart the computer,

then power on the device, reattach usb, reopen Audition, create a new multitrack session, reassign the mic and outputs and voila works... that's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.
