Audio Channel Mapping - Advanced set up

I have moved my two microphone XLR cables to different inputs on our Scarlett18i20 mixer. The old ones programmed in are in 1 & 2. 1 was Mono and labeled L and 2 was Stereo and labeled R. I want them to now be in 3 and 4 and both be stereo. I have talked to tech support, our IT guy, and spent way too much time trying to chase a solution down with no luck. Anyone out there have any knowledge on how to change these "default" settings in Audio Channel Mapping? Thank you in advance!!

You need to follow the Focusrite Get Started Guide and download the Windows drivers from the Focusrite site. Once installed go to Audion's Audio Hardware set up page in Preferences and select ASIO or Focusirte ASIO in the Device Class box and the 18i20 in the Device box. Then you should be able to set up the Audio Channel Mapping defaults to what you want for the Waveform view and you should also be able to find and select which Input you require on a Track by Track basis in the Multitrack view.

It works slightly differently in the Multitrack view, where input selection is on a Track by Track basis, or the Waveform view, where you have to use Audition's Audio Hardware Mapping preferences to set the default Ins and Outs. You don't say whether you are on a Mac or a PC system. However if you running in a Windows environment then you have to have the Focusrite ASIO drivers installed and selected as Audition's Device Class before you can see more than the first two basic stereo inputs and outputs.
