Audio Hardware Changes keep popping up

Hi all, I posted something similair recently but having the same issue. 

 

Problem: while either playing back or recording, the Audio Hardware settings pop up notification pops up even though there was no change to the Hardware. This is getting increasingly frustrating. 

 

I just upgraded from an old behringer USB Mixer (which worked fine) to a new Behringer UMC 1824 Audio Interface. Thats when I started noticing this problem. Since I was not able to resolve, I thouhght it was an issue with the interface itself. 

 

Just bought a brand new Presonus Studio 1824C and suprise suprise, the same issue is occuring. This has to be an issue with some setting somehwhere in Adobe that is causing this. I tested on my laptop and it same problem. All signs pointing to Adobe. I can't imagine that Adobe Audition can't support either of those interfaces. Can anyone think of why Adobe would keep thinking the Audio Hardware changes when there is nothing getting plugged in/out at the time? 

 

Please advise as I am almost ready to jump ship and try another DAW.

Have to tell you that these messages are generated by the operating system, not Audition. A favourite cause of them is a sample rate change caused by something like a system sound occurring - that would be enough. So make sure that system sounds are turned firmly off. Even if you think they are already, it's worth checking again. Also, you need to make sure that Audition and your sound device are running at the same sample rate by default; it may also be worth experimenting with the option to force the hardware to the file sample rate that you're currently using in Audition - all these things can make a difference. But at its heart, this is an OS message sent to Audition - it's merely displaying it.

    The other thing of course is drivers. Assuming that this is Windows you're using, are you using MME or ASIO? The ASIO driver  is the one you want, as it bypasses most of the OS and generally gives much better results in terms of latency - and not being disturbed by Microsoft!

    Thanks, I am using MME. I am on the fence about this being an OS issue. Just got a Presonus Interface to replace the Behringer I started seeing this problem on and sure enough, it does the same thing with the Presonus. To me, it seems like a problem with Audition. All Sample Rates are the same for input and output, no hardware is changing at all, at a very high level...if I have my Inout set to "no input" Audition works fine with playback and editing. Then, when I enable the Interface to record "add it to the Input" thats when things happen and the Sample Rate Detection message pops up and then Audition Freezes and then pops up that new hardware was detected. I have been working with support and waiting to hear back as I showed them the specific issue. 

     

    If it is indeed a windows problem, I should have the same problem with the Software that Presonus included. I will trye Ableton and Presonus DAW and will report back but I suspect it is Adobe that is genereating this problem.
