Audition 2022 not ripping CD

Hi, 

I am trying to use the Extract Audio from CD. When I see the resulting dialog box, Audition doesn't load the list of available tracks.  It does see the external DVD/CD drive. Does anyone know why? 

I'm using the MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021).  

In other programs such as Music and Waveform, it loads the CD OK. Is there a setting in Audition that needs to be set?
