Audition 3.0 with Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (2nd gen) on Win 7 Pro 64bit. Get error message.

I recently bought a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (2nd gen) and when I connected it to my PC, Windows attempted to install the driver but failed so I downloaded the latest driver from the Focusrite website, v4.15.0.172. I can select the 2i2 as the default recording device but when I attempt to select it in Audition I received the following message: " The audio input is not activated. Recording audio is not possible. Please check you input configuration."

I've checked everything and can't see what's wrong.

Windows is fully upto date.

Can anyone help?

A few weeks I had the same problem. I did the following:

- Go to device manager and delete all the references to Focusrite

- Unplug Focusrite and unistall driver

- Reboot PC and clean registry with ccleaner

- Reboot again, and install driver

- Reboot and plug Focusrite. It should work now.

An idea that MAY work to install and/or run old programs

-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... says Encore, but sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account)

Windows audio and AA3 use different audio drivers. Make sure in your Audition 3 Audio Hardware set up window that you have the Focusrite ASIO driver selected rather than the Audition 3.0 Windows one.
