I am trying to install Audition 3.0 on my Windows 10 desktop. This is a new PC without much "baggage" from old installations. When I click on Audition 3.0 Setup.exe, I get asked in what language I want, when I click "next" I see a quick flash and then nothing. There are no files found on the OS drive. I have even removed every mention in the registry, rebooted and turned off Norton protection. NOTHING! I should note that I successfully installed the same files on my laptop running Windows 10 Home without a hitch.
Please help: I have spent hours trying.

I found one solution that allowed me to install Audition 3.0! Instead of selecting "Audition 3.0 Setup.exe", I right-clicked "components.msi" and chose Install. Worked like a charm! For the sake of full disclosure, I did encounter an error at the end of installation (or was it when I first opened the program?) and it said it couldn't find a supported audio device. After rebooting, the program opened and worked great!
I must say that the same trick did not work on the downloaded Audition 3.0.1 Pa

Try right clicking on the .exe file and select Run as Administrator.

Tried that, too. No change. Seems like there should be an Adobe cleanup program...

Right click and select a compatibility mode... which may or may not work with that old program

That didn't work. either. In addition, it installed perfectly on my laptop running same Windows 10 Home. But thanks for trying to help!

I found the patch installed in Windows 10 without doing the compontents.msi thing. Just install the patch.

Regarding the Audition 3.0.1 patch failing to install: I found a work-around (but it made me nervous to try.) I extracted all of the files from the data1.cab and copied them into C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Audition 3.0. NOTE: I renamed the only 2 files which would have been written over: Audition.exe and noclick.xfm.
When I launched Audition, I was running version 3.0.1!
