Adobe audition and Sanoma 14.2.1 - I can only record the left channel. The right channel is inoperative as it it not receiving the feed from my Focusrite 2i2. This works ok in Logic Pro and Audacity but not Audition

We need to see two things, really. The first is your Audio Channel Mapping page in Edit>Preferences, and the second is a little more information about how and what you are recording. Waveform view or Multitrack? If it's Multitrack we need to see what options there are available from the Focusrite. Chances are that you've selected a [m] option to record with, which would only enable a single channel anyway. And what source are you using?

Thank you for getting back to me.

I finally found out the issue. It was to do with Apple's Voice isolation on the microphone.

On any Mac after 2018, when you open a programme that uses a microphone a mic symbol appears at the top of the computer screen. This need to be set to Standard and then everything reverts back to being able to record on both channels separately.

It is now working fully as it should do.

Once again, many thanks for the prompt response.

I'm recently having the same issue. I'm using Audition run thru a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and all of a sudden, I can only get recording out of the left channel. I looked at my settings in Audition/Audio Hardware but they look identifcal to what I've been using for 2 years now. But I don't see the mic icon. Any chance you could share what/where you see that? I feel like i accidentally clicked something or typed a hot key combo or something similar, and messed it up. Thanks.

There are plenty of things in this and the other thread that you can try. It would help, though, if you told us whether this is on a Mac or a PC, and whether you are recording in Multitrack, or Waveform view.

Mac.

Waveform.

couldn't hear in the right channel. Restarted. That got me both channels working.

But now I can't record.

So I updated my OS and still can't record. Oh, bonus, my personal Keyboard Shortcuts are gone now, too.

Hi,

Look at the top of the screen for a micropone logo (Centre of the screen). It is Orange in colour. See my Screen Shot.

Click on it and select Standard (Not Voice Isolation).

I think that should solve it.

Not sure if you will have to quit and then restart Audition.

Good luck

I don't get that icon. Just updated my OS, so It's not that. Maybe I'll just reset all of my settings. That's easy, right?
