Hello all,
I have been running into this issue several times over the past few months. I work in a public setting running Adobe CC 15, an use Audition for our recording booth. I can't fully speak to replicating the issue as each user has a different work flow, but I can describe a common scenario where my issue is found.
Often, when a user is attempting to save their final project file or export their finished file, the program will properly run through the prompts, but when it attempts to save/export it sits at 0%. Looking at the track/resource window, there are tracks that are sitting frozen at about 70% on a "saving metadata" process. These files are always tracks that have been deleted from the work space. Thus, by attempting to save the metadata to files, it is attempting to save it to something that no longer exists, that seems to be the reason that is hanging up. I attempt to force the task to end, but the command is ignored, and nothing changes. I can set up as many exports, saves, new files, new tracks, recordings, resources, batch file import/exports, but nothing I do within the program can stop the program from attempting to save the deleted file's metadata.
This brings me to the issue of our set up. As I said, we operate in a public setting with a version of windows 7 that has much of its administrative functions limited. There is nothing I can do from the user profile to end Audition as a process and restart the program.
Is there any work around within the program that could fix this issue? Any ideas appreciated while we try to provide administrative fixes on our end. Thanks.

We have noted before that several issues can occur with just about any version of Audition if it's not run with complete administrator privileges - and since those very much involve things like file permissions, etc it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that you are having some difficulties with this.
Unfortunately, that almost certainly means it isn't a bug - if that was happening generally I'm sure that we would have heard about it by now. What I suspect (although I don't know for sure) is that rather than discovering that a file has been deleted (and then scrapping any associated metadata it has temporarily stored for it), Audition is simply being denied access to the location it thinks it's in - so it's just waiting for the OS to give it permission to access it. And of course, this simply isn't going to happen - hence your hang-up.

However Audition CC 2015 is now a rather old edition. There have been several updates since then. Since you are a CC user is there any reason that you haven't updated to the latest CC 2017 version? The newer version might or might not get around your problem as there have been quite a lot of bug fixes since 2015.

Same problem here. What to do? I have recorded 18 tracks already and I am so tired to start all over again.
