Audition CC 2017 Doesn't remember where to save files

I've used Audition for years and know it inside and out, but the new version has a bad memory.  If I open a previously saved session, make some changes, and then "save as" (with a new name) it tries to save the session in the last location I saved (Which may be totally unrelated).

Same thing if I create a new session, it wants to save this new session in last location used, not in the location I just created.  I open and save dozens, if not hundreds of files a day, and this new twist is a major setback.  Can I fix this myself or is it a problem waiting for an Adobe fix?

Hey guys.

Looks like the folks at Adobe Audition fixed this issue. I downloaded the latest build 10.0.1.8 and the current save path of the newly opened wav or mp3 file reflects its current location.

Thanks Adobe Audition team!

I reported the bug and heard back.  It was "an inadvertent change in behavior...and should be fixed in the upcoming update."

Good to hear. Thanks for following up.

Was there a timeframe for the update?

In the meantime, the original source path can be found on the dropdown below the current path. That's my current work-around until the update.

no time frame from Adobe, but it's driving me batty.  I keep forgetting and saving files in the wrong folders and totally messing up what was once a very organized file system!

Same here! Save for web does not remember last location I used. Extremely irritating!

Have you reported it as a bug then? Nothing is likely to get changed unless you report it.

Same issue here.

I want to be able to save the file in the same location of the file I just opened.

I tried looking at the prefs 10 times and I couldn't find anything.

When you use the Save As or new Session dialogue pane opens you should have all your recently used saved folder paths in the drop down menu that appears when you click on the down arrow at the right of the Location path name box. This includes the path to the folder of your newly opened file. Unfortunately the list appears in alphabetical order not in the order of last used it would seem.

The appropriate folder path doesn't always appear in the dialogue pane, especially if you open the session (sesx) file from a folder or Windows search.  Always did in the past versions. Ridiculous that it doesn't automatically save in the correct folder.
