Audition CC 2017 - MacBook Pro 2016 with Touch Bar - Windows 10 (BootCamp) - Skip Selection Issues

I am using the late 2016 MacBook Pro with touch bar running Windows 10 Professional via Boot Camp.

When using the "skip selection" function, it only plays a second after the audio selection. It should be playing everything in the selection.

Please help.

Thanks!

Playing with 'skip selection' on will only play up to the selection and then skip to the end playing a second or two after the selection ends. By default my installation plays about 3-4 seconds pre and post selection. However you can redefine how much the pre/post play time should be by placing the Play cursor on the Time Bar above the Waveform at the place where you want the pre roll to start. The playback will then carry on for the same amount post the selection.

I understand the pre- post- function of the playback. My issue is that an additional 1/2 second of audio is silent after the playhead skips the selection.

E.g. - If I put the in-point at 00:01:000 and the out-point at 00:03:000, and then start play back 2 seconds pre-, the audio won't play back for another half second beyond 00:03:000 - that is to say, I will start hearing audio again at 00:03:500.

That is certainly not normal and it doesn't happen at all in my installation of Audition. So something else in your set up must cause it to happen. You do have the sample rates for the file you are editing in Audition, Audition itself, the Mac audio set up and audio interface all set to the same frequency? Is it always half a second whatever the length of the selected portion of audio that you are skipping across?
