I just updated to CC 2018, and now have constant crashes when choosing to edit an effect from the effect rack, during playback.
It sometimes work, but the crashes occur like 2/3 times.
I have the following events in my windows event log:

It's really frustrating, making it almost impossible for me to master a recording. I wish I could downgrade to the previous version.
Excuse the problems,
We are aware of the issue and working on a fix, thanks for your report

Ahh, I can install a previous version
I will pursue that track until a fix has been applied.
Update: works fine now that I downgraded to CC 2017. It definitely appears to be a CC 2018 issue.

This will need to be reported to the developers. See the FAQs Audition Crashed. Now what? in order to do so.

I read the article in the supplied link, and collected the mentioned information.
I was unable to figure out what the 'Windows Error Reporter' is, google only finds reference to som Mac app, I appearantly have no such installed on my windows machine, and it doesn't appear to be a menu item inside Audition.
Luckily however, an email address was mentioned in the comments section, so I submitted the bug by email.

No luck involved - it's entirely deliberate that the email address is mentioned twice!

Is it possible to get CC 2017 now? I have a deadline on a project. I had CC 2015 and have been working well with that for the two plus years since. How can I get back to a previous version of CC? And quickly...
Thanks!

Same crashing happening with editing an audiobook in CC 2018. Lost a hard hour of work....:-(
The computer goes to the blue screen of 'not happy' and even after using a previous restore point, it still crashed after about 15 minutes of work. The third time it did this, nearly the entire file came back as an empty, straight line. Luckily I had the original saved to an external hard drive, but wow, there is a lot of work to redo now.
I'll follow the reporting guide and see if this problem can be worked out. Any quick hints on how I can get the CC 2017 version? I haven't upgraded since CC 2015 because of fearing just this kind of problem.
Thanks.

Since the last reply is from Nov 2, I just want to provide an update and say I'm having this problem as well. Brand new Win10 installation with CC 2018.

I am getting a crash when applying 30-band Graphic Equalizer to the Effects rack in Audition CC 2018. Inexcusable. Adobe, do NOT release software updates that are buggy, I have uninstalled 2018 and installed Audition CC 2017. No crashing with Effects rack.

Any information on the new update yet? Audition 2018 is really unusable due to this issue, so I'm stuck using 2017 (which I prefer more).

There will, as usual, be no information at all until the moment it's released.

Fixed, at last - get latest update, version 11.1.

11.2 is doing the same as pre 11.1 versions. I downgraded to 11.1 for a bit more stability. You guys at Adobe have got to do more real-world testing.

I see this thread goes back to the end of 2017. Apparently still not fixed!! Just got back into the Audition product after years of taking a break from it. Paid for the year up front and cannot get anything done due to this same problem. Hopefully I will not get the same generic response of "being aware of it" - its been almost a year now since adobe made aware of this.

According to the information I have, this is a Windows issue, not an Audition one (look at the path), and it may well be that you are looking at 'incompatibilities' between your OS and Audition - we've seen a few things like this happening. It certainly doesn't happen to everybody - or even that many people at all. As far as I'm concerned, it really is getting to be quite a pain making sure that at any given time, everything that needs to be is of the correct version - and this mainly goes wrong because M$ update their OS without warning you that there may be consequences...

Thanks for the info. Looks like trying to correct problems with that dll file can be messy. I downgraded to the next prior version and this and this seemed to work for now. We'll see...
