Audition CC on Mac will not access all input hardware

Running AA CC on my iMac, the program will not allow me to access 2 separate USB inputs. One a USB mic and the other a USB external soundcard, both of which  work perfectly well with other software. I am attempting to record one track in multitrack with one device and a secong track simultaneously with the other USB  input device. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I shift my attention to another DAW.

I am coming over to AA CC on a Mac where both USB inputs are active in system prefs from a windows PC using Adobe Audition 3 where this is as normal and easy as breathing.

This is nothing to do with Audition but your Mac's audio setup. You have to use the Mac's Audio MIDI Setup to create an Aggregate device which will combine your two sources. Look online to find out how this works. I am not a Mac user so cannot tell you how to do this I'm afraid.

I'm having the same issues. Mac OSX- USB mixer input and output-- Audition 2020. The computer is set and sees the input from a mic in the mixer. Open Audition- nothing. Set all the harware settings the same ....nothing. Ask nicely....nothing. Premeire is buggy too. We are going back to 2018 Adobe.

If you are using Catalina, and going back to 2018 doesn't work, then check the security settings on your computer carefully - Apple have 'hardened' some of them, and switched stuff off by default...

I had the same issue.....and I was very dissapointed in Adobe for having such a limted functioning Adobe Audition software. I assume and hope there will be an update for Macbook users for Adobe Audition.

For now the workaround I found is using GARAGEBAND, because GarageBand is able to recoginze Aggregate devices from Mac's Audio Midi Setup. With GarageBand I was able to setup a mic and a paino keyboard to record onto 2 seperate channels/ tracks with live playback. And I could probably setup more devices as well using USB/ AUX audio connections.

I would lovvvvvve nothing more than to use Adobe for everything media that I need, but Adobe Audition doesn't seem to recognize/ pick-up Aggregate devices created from Mac's Midi Setup. Once Audition can recognize Aggregate devices then we'll be good to go.

It really does make me wonder how so many Mac users don't have a problem with this...

Honestly I think it's because of GarageBand. I thinnkkkk most Macbooks just come with GarageBand already installed so a lot of people probably just use that insteads of Audition. I also don't hear many people that use Audition regularly....I think it's more popular to use a different software other tha Audition, I don't know why though. Could be because of this issue! LOL

But it could also be because people buy certain MIDI HUBS that are maybe more universally picked up by all laptops, meaning people have Midi Hubs that maybe Adobe Audition does recognize. But I do not have one of those Midi Hubs nor do I need one at the moment because GarageBand did what I needed.

I more surprised that Adobe users aren't being more vocal about this. But like I said, I think it's just more popular generally to use some other music software for your music? Not sure.
