Question

Audition CS5 / WIN 10

I recently installed Audition CS5 on a WIN10 machine using WDM AoIP (4) channel audio drivers.

Four channel because I can assing specific channels to several programs needing audio drivers without conflicts.

In the Audio preference drop down, "MME" is my option and from there I assign a channel and also in windows sound Advanced Sound Options, I also assign the same channel to Audition!

When I go to play or record, nothing happens,  Audition just sits there  which I have seen before using Win7 and not having the correct drivers installed.

Adobe says that CS5, 5.5 will run using  ASIO or WDM . ASIO works fine here but my other programs will not work using the ASIO drivers so I will need to use WDM and not ASIO.

Any ideas before I go back and install Audition 3.0,  because there is an Audio option "Windows Sound driver" which will  allow me to use the Windows Sound panel with this version.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

No guarantees, but try the (free) ASIO4ALL driver.
