Audition CS6 and support for 64bit VST plugins

I've never had a problem with adding VST plugins to Audition before, but have struck difficulty with Izotope's Ozone Imager V2.  It's not showing up, and I've learned that this plugin is only available in VST as a 64bit version.

Does Audition CS6 support 64bit VST plugins as far as we are aware of?  It's been difficult to google-fu the info on this.

Your google search would have revealed the result if you'd looked at this generically. You can't run 64-bit plugins on any 32-bit host unless you bridge them. And that's the answer - jBridge.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for that, and the jBridge software looks realy interesting.  Gosh, out there is usually a geek for every scenario imaginable -- gotta love the internet!

I'd searched for the VST plugin standard info through to Steinberg etc and whilst I could learn about various versions of VST, there was no info on the development and starting date for use of 64bit VST plugins.  Sometimes knowing what exactly to search for is half the battle.

As Audition CS6 exists within "C:\Program Files (x86)" I'm summising that it really is only 32 bit.  Thanks again for your help.

You're correct. Audition CS6 is 32 bit. I've been experimenting with Neural DSP plugins (Archetype: Nolly), and while jBridge does the conversion to a folder, Audition still won't import it. It will find it and add it, but it doesn't work.

Neural DSP plugins do work with Reaper though. I was really hoping to not have to move to a different DAW, but Audition doesn't seem to be able to support newer plugins.
