Audition keeps freezing

Audition has been working without any issues since I installed it 4 months ago. Recently, it has started to freeze every 5 minutes or so. This happened prior to any system or software updates. I updated the software two days ago, but that did not fix the problem. Windows rolled out an update yesterday sometime but that has not fixed it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and that has not ifxed the problem. I have plent of disk space, i7 with 48 GB RAM. HELP!! I am in the middle of a project and am getting nowhere fast..
