Audition Not Recording Input from Mic or Loopback - Help Wanted

I'm working with a MacBook Pro. I use Loopback (from Rogue Amoeba) to pull sound from online videos and a Yeti mic to record audio.

Currently, Audition does not pick up any audio -- from Loopback, my Yeti Mic, or the Mac internal mic -- when recording. I have played with the audio hardware and channel mapping a million different ways. I also tried to use the free program Audacity as a test, and I have the same issues with that.

Anyone know what's going on here?

If you are using Catalina, the chances are that you are a victim of Apple's 'hardened security'. This appears to result in a lot of the things you might want to do being turned off by default, rather than on. I'm not a Mac user, so I can't tell you directly what to do about that, I'm afraid. The other thing I know you have to do in order to use any audio on a mac is to create an 'aggregate device', which is what Audition sees as available inputs, and I'm sure that applies to Audacity as well.
