Audition won't import WAV files

Hi all. Probably a noob question here.  Was working fine a couple of days ago.  Not sure if a preference somehow changed, but I'm an Audition novice and don't know how to troubleshoot or change.  Mp3's import without a problem.

There's no error message.  Just this:

I don't know what'a happening, but that's not an Audition warning...
