Best way to remove fan noise (?)

Dear Community,

An amateur needs your kind support. I have a sound file, three people recorded (in German) with a H4n recorder in a lecture hall, with two rather loud fans in the background. It's easy to remove the fan noise via sound reduction, yet a very unsettling artificial echo remains.

I wonder what may be the best way to achieve the best audio quality, according to your experience?

Thank you very much in advance,

Oliver

Richard is absolutely correct 🙂

However if the echo was present before noise reduction, it may have been casued by the acoutics

of the lecture hall.

In which case DeReverb may be your friend.

Feel free to post a sample of before and after you noise reduction efforts.

Best regards, Euan.

Thank you very much for your response, Euan! Richard's Link done the job, so to say. I had brutally "butchered" the sound with the extensive use of the Noise Reduction. By using -20db in two takes i was able to correct it.
