You've asked two different things here, and the answer to each is different. In the thread title, you've said 'can I create an EDM mix?' and the answer to that is clearly yes, you can - using Multitrack view that is relatively easy; you place the clips you want onto a track, and you can either butt them up or cross-fade them to your heart's content. You can also EQ them, alter the pitch, apply individual effects to each clip, etc - no problem. But...

The creation of tracks in the first place, though, is another matter altogether. Since Audition is fundamentally an editor, it's not really designed for music origination as such - no MIDI capability, and it doesn't support VSTi instrument plugins. Almost certainly a better approach would be to use some music creation software - like Reaper, for instance (although there are a lot of other options), and then use Audition to finish the process off, as I described above.

Yes...as long as you have access to all the original tracks in an Audio (as opposed to MIDI) format.

Indeed, I know quite a few people who use some form of sequencer (hardware or software) to create their sounds, then export them to wave files and do the final mix (including effects etc) in Audition because that's the area where Audition really shines.
